Happy week o’Halloween! These days, Halloween feels synonymous with candy more than anything else. I’m not necessarily complaining, since I love chocolate as much as any other ghoul. I just want to celebrate the holiday without stuffing my toddler full of candy! Those years will come, I know. But at 19 months old, he’s very impressionable with food and hasn’t developed much of a sweet tooth yet. Yet.
Here’s a healthy snack with foods that you probably already have at home: apples & cheese. I used little candy eyes that I found at our grocery store, although you could also use chocolate chips or raisins for eyes.
The best part about this snack is the protein + produce combo. Protein helps to fill you up, and fiber helps keep you feeling full. It’s an ideal snack for kids and their mummies! You don’t need a recipe to figure this one out, but I’ve included it below for Pinterest purposes.
Keep checking back…I’ll be sharing more Halloween snacks and treats on the blog and on Instagram this week!
