It’s hard to believe my last pregnancy update was nearly 7 weeks ago! Just a few more days until the third trimester. I haven’t taken a single belly pic since the last update, so this update was a good excuse to snap a bathroom selfie. Why do these pictures never turn out well? It looks like I’m living in an Instagram filter. Anyways…
This is going by so quickly, confirming what I’ve always heard about second pregnancies. But here’s a tip for the masses: only moms (and maybe dads) can say that! I find it amusing when friends or acquaintances tell me how quickly my pregnancy is going for them. That’s because you’re drinking your wine and wearing your normal clothes and sleeping through the night and still enjoying ab muscles! 😝
Here’s what’s happening in the world of baby Armul #2:
Baby is the size of: a cucumber. I always think What to Expect should specify that they mean “length,” rather than “size” on this one.
Food cravings: cereal. I’ve been waking up ravenous and cereal sounds better than anything right now.
Best moment of the week: We toured the labor & delivery ward of our hospital, and it was eye-opening. Wow, this is really happening in the not-so-distant future. We stood in front of the nursery window, and I can’t believe how small newborns are. How have I forgotten that? How have I forgotten everything about this stage?😬 And yet forgotten nothing about the pain and agony of childbirth? 😬😬
What I miss: Fall always makes me miss trail running, ultrarunning and mountain biking. There is nothing better than spending the day in the woods doing some type of fun activity. We’ve been hiking on our local trails, which gives me that fix. One day, I carried Brady on my back around the whole hilly loop, in 90 degrees. I think that was a little overkill because I was sore for days. I’ve been taking it easier since then, but I’m looking forward to fun outdoor activities next spring and summer.
What I’m looking forward to: Thanksgiving! There is so much to be thankful for this year. Plus, it’s one of our first holiday staycations.
Anything else?: We’ve been talking to Brady about the baby, and he’s getting his first baby doll for Christmas this year. Still no comprehension about his little brother, though. I’ll ask, “Where’s the baby?” And he brings me my cell phone because the lock screen is a picture of him. He’ll be such a sweet and gentle big brother, though. He’s good at sharing and exceptionally gentle with other kids and animals.
That’s all for now! I’ll remind myself to take another pic a few weeks from now. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
